Pons Aelius, 'live' at the Old King's Head Belper, 17th May 2019

We were absolutely chuffed to have award-winning progressive folk sextet Pons Aelius bring their own brand of high energy yet meticulously crafted instrumental music to Belper for the first time on Friday 17th May 2019 as part of the Belper Arts Festival.

The lads gave us an amazing concert featuring music from their first album "Captain Glen's Comfort", which we found out to be named after a "cocktail" containing Vodka, spiced rum and Southern Comfort with a thimble full of lemonade invented in their student days and, excitingly, music from their forthcoming album "Fire Under The Bridge", which will be magnificent when released.

Thanks to the lads, Jordan, Sam, Tom, Bev, Alasdair and Callum for coming down to play for us, thanks also to John Adams who did the sound, Ryan on the lights, Amy at the bar, Lynne on the door, Bev and Mike from the pub and of course to all you good folk who came along to support live music at The Old King's Head. This gig closed our Spring season and what a way to finish, mighty stuff altogether.

We hope to see you back with us when we start the Autumn 2019 season in September.
